Track Submission Guidelines
Please read these guidelines before submitting a new track. Following them helps keep PumpTrack UK accurate, helpful, and easy for others to explore.
Name or Tag (Required, max 50 characters)
Please keep your chosen name or tag consistent across all your track submissions and reviews. This allows us to automatically group your contributions together on your contributor page.
Before choosing a name, you may want to check the contributors list to ensure another user isn’t using the same name. If they are, choose something unique so your contributions can be grouped correctly.
Email Address (Optional, max 120 characters)
Providing an email address is optional. We only use it if we need to contact you about your submission, and we never share it with anyone. See our Privacy Policy.
Track Name (Required, max 120 characters)
Enter the official or commonly used name of the track. If it has no official name, choose something descriptive and recognisable.
Description (Required, max 1000 characters)
Provide a detailed description of the track. You may include:
- Builder or organisation (if known)
- Track size or number of features
- Construction year
- Condition of the track
- Key features (rollers, berms, jumps, etc.)
- Useful location notes (car park, entrance points)
Be as creative and informative as you like!
Example:
“Modern asphalt pump track with a continuous loop and several transfer lines. Built in 2022 by Velosolutions and well maintained by the local council. Features a mix of small and medium rollers with three tight berms and one higher line for advanced riders. Located in the south corner of Riverside Park, next to the main car park and children’s play area.”
Latitude & Longitude (Required)
These coordinates are essential for map placement and navigation. On the Submit a Track form, you can click “Need help finding these?” to see a step-by-step guide using Google Maps. Take special care with longitude data as many of these will be minus (-) figures often shown as (w) west on digital maps.
How to find coordinates on Google Maps (mobile):
- Open Google Maps and locate the pump track.
- Long-press on or near the track to drop a pin.
- Swipe up to reveal the location details panel.
- Tap on the coordinates to copy them, then paste into the form.
Address (Optional, max 200 characters)
If you don’t know the exact address, click “Verify location & suggest address” after entering latitude and longitude on the form. Our system will suggest an address, which you can refine using local knowledge (e.g. nearest entrance or park area).
Postcode (Optional, max 20 characters)
As with the address, you can auto-fill this by clicking “Verify location & suggest address” after entering latitude and longitude.
Surface Type (Required)
Indicate the main riding surface, for example: Tarmac, Dirt, Concrete, or Gravel.
Main Image (Required, max 10MB)
Panorama-style photos are ideal for pump track main images, as they capture a wider view of the full layout. Images are automatically compressed and optimised during upload.
If you want to upload more photos, please wait until your track has been approved — you will then be able to add additional images from the track’s own page.
Example of a clear main track image:
The full track (or a large section) should be visible, ideally without heavy filters or motion blur.
Video (Optional, max 50MB, max 30 seconds)
Video uploads are optional but welcome. Please keep videos short (under 30 seconds) to help users on low-signal mobile connections.
Before uploading, please read our Video Compression Guide to help keep file sizes efficient.
- Film in landscape where possible, to show more of the track.
- Avoid long static shots – focus on riding or walking the line.
- Try to keep the rider and track in frame (avoid filming only the sky or ground).
- Use the compression settings in our Video Guide to reduce file size before upload.
Track Review (Optional, max 500 characters)
A track review should describe your personal opinion and experience when riding or visiting the track.
This is different from the main track description, which should focus on factual information.
Example:
“Super fun and fast track with great flow in both directions. Best for intermediate and advanced riders, as some rollers are quite steep. Can get busy after school, but early mornings are usually quiet. Surface is smooth and grippy, even when slightly damp.”
